Who We Are
Formed in 1988 by leading Southern California researchers, Los Nettos has been operating as a private regional network for its members and its associates, providing cost-effective connections to the greater Los Angeles area. Today, Los Nettos offers high-bandwidth Internet connections to a variety of universities, colleges, research facilities, hospitals, city governments, public schools and museums.
The consortium of universities and research facilities that participate in managing the network currently includes representatives from:
- California Institute of Technology
- The Claremont Colleges
- Jet Propulsion Laboratory
- Loyola Marymount University
- Occidental College
- University of Southern California
Team
The Los Nettos administrative and engineering teams have many years experience working with high performance research networks. This small highly skilled staff of 6 people is supported by equally skilled staff at each of is member campuses.

Governance
Los Nettos is headquartered at USC’s Information Technology Services Division and is governed by representatives of consortium members that comprise the Los Nettos Board of Directors and Los Nettos Technical Committee which advises the board on technical matters.
