Yul Pyun is the Director of Los Nettos in the Information Technology Services division (ITS) of the University of Southern California. Yul has more than 27 years in the technology field, 22 of which are in designing and running networks.
Prior to joining USC, Yul was a senior network engineer and project manager at the University of Hawaii, where he directed the development and installation of the Hawaii Interactive Television System (HITS) and managed the upgrade of the state-wide institutional network (I-NET) from SONET to DWDM. He has extensive experience with IP multicast, Quality-of-Service (QoS) techniques, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) technology, microwave and optical networking. He participated in the project to connect the University of Hawaii to Internet2.
Yul has worked at IBM, Burroughs Corp, DEC, Emulex, and Hi-Tech Information Systems. While in Hawaii, he also worked as the systems and communications manager at Kapi’olani Community College.
